Our guest this week is Sarah Cullen, who is an Expert in Energy Systems.
Sarah discusses the components that supply the Electric Power Grid and their various strengths and weaknesses.
In Ireland, we have a very high reliance on Wind Energy (which is generally a good thing) but it also needs to be backed up with, currently, fossil fuel generated electricity. This adds to our Carbon emissions.
Sarah asks why we are not, at least considering, Nuclear as an option for our electricity supply, not the least because, the total life cycle Carbon emissions are extremely low.
Consideration by Governmental bodies of Nuclear generated Electricity is prohibited by law in Ireland, which seems daft to me.
Sarah asks some reasonable and fair questions and wants to open the debate up about the best way forward considering that Electricity demand will grow in line with the increasing use of electricity in transport and new industries such as Data Centres.
Sarah is a great guest and plays out with an appropriate choice of song.

Our guest this week is Ignacio Marco, who lives in Madrid.
Ignacio was a Senior Executive in the Plastics industry for his whole Career and worked for the likes of Exxon and Repsol. He worked on large Plastic Production plants from Spain to Mexico and even worked on building a plant in China.
Towards the end of his career, he joined the Plastics Europe, there he has begun to work on Plastics and Sustainability. He lobbies politicians and companies to help provide solutions to the problem.
Ignacio says that after Climate Change, Plastic Pollution is the second biggest environmental problem we are struggling with and, when I thought about it, that seems to be the case to me. Plastics take a few hundred years to break down and the biggest issue is plastics entering the Seas. Where does most of it come from?
Ignacio gives us an idea of how much Plastic is produced globally every day, an enormous figure.
In terms of personal responsibility, Ignacio identifies Single Use plastics to be a big culprit, something we might use for a minute or an hour and then it must be disposed of and takes a hundred years to degrade.
What is the solution? Ignacio gives us perspective.
And we play out with an absolute classic song

We have an incredible story of entrepreneurial resilience this week, when we talk to Tomer Neu-ner, who lives in Stockholm.
Tomer is a much travelled entrepreneur and he has some fun stories about his experiences with a second hand Toyota in South America.
After that, he returned to Tel Aviv, started his family, and, one day, frustrated while looking for a parking space, he had an idea that became the basis of his start-up. Parko.
He tells us how he and his team spent seven years building a successful company before eventually selling it. And it was some roller coaster ride over that time, as you will hear.
His recounting of how they pivoted the technology from hardware to ML is very revealing and shows how they learned from market feedback and customer behaviour.
Also his roller-coaster ride in funding and growing the company are a testament to his dedication and resilience and shows what you need to be an entrepreneur.
Finally, Tomer also tells us about his newest venture in on-line maths lessons for kids, which I think is a winner - www.1on1math.com
As always, we play out with a song of his choice.
Tomer can be contacted at:

Our guest this week is Graham O’Rourke who is a serial entrepreneur – and a very engaging and interesting speaker.
Graham tells us about his first successful company, MOR Digital, a web services company, which he co-founded with his wife and they’re still married!
And, as if that wasn’t enough, he then founded Aphix Software about five years ago, which is a successful eCommerce company.
Graham talks about how his business model involves selling through key partners, by bringing extra value to their eCommerce platforms. This has brought him to new markets all over the world.
Its great example of how a company firstly finds a new market by working with other companies and then perfects an efficient sales model with these partners.
As always, we play out on a great number, which is a lot of fun.
